It was so good, yes I am tooting my own horn.<br /><br />I used my mom's preparation for the ham.<br /><br />1 can of pineapples<br />brown sugar<br />whole cloves<br /><br />I cut diamond shapes on the top of the ham and poured the pineapple juice over it. I added the whole cloves by placing a clove at each point of the diamond cuts. I then packed the brown sugar all over the ham and then placed the <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">pineapples</span> on top of the ham.<br /><br />I filled the pan half full of water, mixed with the <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">pineapple juice</span>..... You cook based on pounds, which is on the package. This was cooked at 350 degrees for 8 hours. So tender and juicy.<br /><br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUQv8iqp1zy8dOKN52RbTpK7WN3UzJV_vWuORDGg0ITUcdSRvONEkJ0zioIZ9UjCGpYynbah2G8Hd6vCZdf1Rpv_qbqaD8Ak0Od_IxkqF6FSJV6WY4MnDJlBQVd5aXxrnWpC3kKiahZs1x/s1600-h/IMG_0086.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287255153116935090" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUQv8iqp1zy8dOKN52RbTpK7WN3UzJV_vWuORDGg0ITUcdSRvONEkJ0zioIZ9UjCGpYynbah2G8Hd6vCZdf1Rpv_qbqaD8Ak0Od_IxkqF6FSJV6WY4MnDJlBQVd5aXxrnWpC3kKiahZs1x/s320/IMG_0086.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br />Someone picked at it before I took the final picture, but you can see it's just falling apart.<br /><br /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287255158720778050" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpdTAu7V9xPp4-_JUFygTfSvlT4CketTFzVCAK0HSYDq5R4QT1f_KCu7slFO0QA8SMVbWbDz4_1VJ20xruiYFKqWgk1WTfMdkt-G_-VD1FEosA5htHuE8Jz-Gq2QQktUNLASzJLXRHAGdr/s320/IMG_0088.JPG" border="0" /><br /></div><p align="center">My hubby carving the Ham, which didn't take much. My dad's birthday was Dec. 13th and here is the cake I made for him. It's Butter cake (Duncan Hine's) and strawberry filling. I find it easier to just use the cake mixes when I decorate, but I will only use Duncan hines.<br /><br /><br /><div align="center">My Dad:) </div><div align="center"> </div><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287250918105683682" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSEwZdCTaI8xVQcyCkxV506v8hIv2Baj_S6KxS9vLtTlPafGmv6XbyZ090Pyc4bMDGAT2glpHTni3H3MXqeyP1OihcUr9eEtHjB46aH2p_ZPdDhJtnl4Cmg3CocMqkCEdOX7E_JykOEgVo/s320/IMG_0067.JPG" border="0" /></p><p> </p><p align="center">and his cake<br /></p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287250927298721842" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiM380Z8HmZwqgxE8Qj9NjWDOguaSwDKzx2pAmaUsmbVpy9UN7OGPcz8y1G5b6M_SJlBVd7aWa5zTigcl5DbygksEYTNhn-HwSDsWjXtH85ePVkTzur8WjhPNz8JJx-dgFbGJRZe8124ttb/s320/IMG_0057.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287250911723366034" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2P08l70xpIKsd8nANr0W9XnkJYvt2GxawMxwnRQtZEAuQVC_S1scAsqy8KYPjm5NMMmUJyWfWxWOGBkK01mVhJpd0mb7rmnTwQ3Elk8ABBCYICQXBSMDyf2Yszt98uoolpgAfRfTrSVVM/s320/IMG_0060.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287250904383717554" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaEZBR-ONd9Jir7VZVR5-aLogJnqgsyfV0ZqaEu5zYc7xZ7dEvPxHFsptz4vq1JLFvc3k6qJqyuJpBjRDq7UiFjrNsPc3IfutOs-a2FWgVaft7GXb3CtTG0IZOseMLJ7zoEoMOCpl-UIkO/s320/IMG_0052.JPG" border="0" />Mrs.Babbsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436337595785876400noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745134726992612448.post-66944911520500812942009-01-02T21:27:00.003-05:002009-01-03T20:58:27.804-05:00Santa Claus Cookies<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJv1okC9qESbX91A9dolWrp6TELT_-34h6uk6TvfKnBffJuTMxzBAOYDNEWkwGTNfIoupfPNMUTVYXkmfVXHAtcUJ497gde3hIvHDmN2qUfiHx41DuSeLhRToVlbJ4gqZpTrwLr7FOhj9K/s1600-h/IMG_0076.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287252060952876610" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJv1okC9qESbX91A9dolWrp6TELT_-34h6uk6TvfKnBffJuTMxzBAOYDNEWkwGTNfIoupfPNMUTVYXkmfVXHAtcUJ497gde3hIvHDmN2qUfiHx41DuSeLhRToVlbJ4gqZpTrwLr7FOhj9K/s320/IMG_0076.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>The santa claus cookies smelled so good baking them. I think these are by far my favorite peanut butter cookie.<br /><br />2 1/2 cups of flour<br />1 tsp baking soda<br />1/2 tsp baking powder<br />1/4 tsp salt<br />pinch of freshly grated nutmeg<br />2 sticks of unsalted butter- room temp<br />1 cup of peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)<br />1 cup light brown sugar<br />3/4 cup sugar<br />2 large eggs<br />1 1/2 cups salted peanuts<br /><br />About 1/2 cup sugar for rolling<br /><br />Directions:<br />Position the racks to divide the oven into thirds and preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment or silicone mats.<br /><br />Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.<br /><br />Working with a stand mixer, with a fitted paddle. Beat the butter on medium speed for a minute or two, until it is smooth and creamy. Add the peanut butter and beat another minute. Add the sugars and beat until blended, then add eggs one at a time.<br /><br />On low speed beat in dry ingredients, mixing a little at time until blended before adding more. Once blended, mis in chopped peanuts.<br /><br />Pour the 1/2 cup sugar in a bowl.<br /><br />Okay the book says to use a level tablespoon to measure a ball for each cookie, but I just grabbed a litte and rolled it into a ball. Once you have a nice ball, drop it and roll it around in the sugar. Then place it on the cookie sheet. Take a fork and press the fork against the ball of cookie dough in one direction and then again in a perpendicular direction, you should have a flat round cookie.<br /><br />Bake for about 12 minutes.</div>Mrs.Babbsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436337595785876400noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745134726992612448.post-15144983794727508432009-01-02T20:46:00.004-05:002009-01-02T20:57:45.571-05:00Chocolate Chip CookiesI only made 3 types of cookies this Christmas. I had way too much going on, work was crazy busy. Two of the three types I made were from the Dorie Greenspan Baking: From my home to yours.<br /><br />I sent them overseas to an officer in Iraq.<br /><br />Ingredients<br />2 cups flour<br />1 tsp salt<br />3/4 tsp Baking soda<br />1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature<br />1 cup sugar<br />2/3 cup packed light brown sugar<br />2 tsp vanilla extract<br />2 large eggs<br />12 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped into chips or 2 cups store-bought chocolate chips or semisweet chocolate chunks (I used semisweet)<br />1 cup finely chopped walts or pecans (optional) <br /><br /><br />Directions<br />Center a rack in the oven and preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line two baking sheets with parchment or silicone mats.<br /><br />Whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda.<br /><br />Working with a stand mixer, preferably fitted with the paddle attachment, or with a hand mixer in a large bowl, beat the butter at medium speed for about 1 minute, until smooth. Add the sugars and beat for another 2 minutes or so, until well-blended. Beat in the vanilla. Add the eggs one at a time, beating for 1 minute after each egg goes inches Reduce the mixer speed to low and add the dry ingredients in 3 portions, mixing only until each addition is incorporated. On low speed, or by hand with a rubber spatula, mix in the chocolate and nuts.<br /><br />Spoon the dough by slightly rounded tablespoonfuls onto the baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between spoonfuls.<br /><br />Bake the cookies- one sheet at a time and rotating the sheet at the midway point- for 10-12 minutes, or until they are brown at the edges and golden in the center; they may still be a little soft in the middle, and that's just fine. Pull the sheet from the oven and allow the cookies to rest for 1 minute, then carefully, using a wide metal spatula, transfer them to racks to cool to room temperature.Mrs.Babbsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436337595785876400noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745134726992612448.post-22536336742105673172008-11-25T22:04:00.002-05:002008-11-25T22:06:52.330-05:00Just for funsies (yes, a made up word)My friend Amanda and I headed to the New Kids on the block concert:) We had a blast!<br /><br />Doesn't she look great and what a trooper, pregnant with twins and going to a concert!<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1MIrBm_j4gb5Dj1FVPWVL3TQQPHD7eOO7Ixs8wHtIH7Koixod9deTFrBZn3h0pTS6qzHOHb1MOGdNPK0a-_UcsrU5Uarqt5FGaczMLIma42EE7k2WsIUb9og_tt0Uy8mgS_qJIz9ebotg/s1600-h/IMG_0001.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5272797025140967234" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1MIrBm_j4gb5Dj1FVPWVL3TQQPHD7eOO7Ixs8wHtIH7Koixod9deTFrBZn3h0pTS6qzHOHb1MOGdNPK0a-_UcsrU5Uarqt5FGaczMLIma42EE7k2WsIUb9og_tt0Uy8mgS_qJIz9ebotg/s320/IMG_0001.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div>Mrs.Babbsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436337595785876400noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745134726992612448.post-81573444908031899062008-11-25T21:45:00.005-05:002008-11-25T22:02:31.899-05:00Wilton Fondant and Gumpaste/ FinalWell, this is my last cake class until Jan. So at least for the next month I will be back to posting recipes.<br /><br />I wish the cake had a Thanksgiving theme since I am hosting T-day dinner this year for my family.<br /><br />I love the daisies. There are 40 little daisies on this cake, 4 large and 4 medium size daisies. We made the trinket box in the class. It was part of the final lesson.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5272793002886585010" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZ7Kh1u3pt_PONDDIFUC_aepaHvVGP3hWN59pjWndNGcDGpcPyGEPZMPJ1q_l3G1S40NXlzp3SqOYh-KVMhAA6ZLvaIiC1UCgjjRqVZIhn1fewzgWXtskAGAxQcY9V5rL5yYwoZ2VNWMP9/s320/IMG_0002.JPG" border="0" /><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5272793011298970706" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvrOdHX0TIJTybbQDAxOin8W5ZJ1WngKDiso-bKhC7OXuWgqhf6YPluR8S0K0wK2QZA5oMpJK4iGoTAqZ3VU3tw41nrOEOvPmn4v8d_K37ZdVsj3JylCP8muA1VlL9q5_ZnJma3cB1kHjJ/s320/IMG_0004.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5272793013544244226" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsPSP1IysIncIPBqO_YjdnWlEnErI_Mjw8iU6MVPf4lRqaA0m2tp9NnldjwqWT6d2LrTKgPTfED16XsROHk06HuVVZdhXOpVVUG6myNXEhfFS5DNhWfc-LsrlMqYBnVjedygrmgXmL49Ci/s320/IMG_0005.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5272793020873791826" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz9hcj6cbmCpJjyoZpA6vKJBkrYuiZZvsvhStMF2Rtx177hCX-Ucd7txQHxbTHxw3F2VEcsVyp-bbP7Cw55YD-ykKhd0L8oiTWGwcFwNcPMYOJ_krNBLLVV-tZ8ultKk-hNNXBtjyHlOIj/s320/IMG_0006.JPG" border="0" /></p><p></p><p>My next cake class will be course 2, flowers and borders. </p>Mrs.Babbsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436337595785876400noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745134726992612448.post-69644994274834276882008-11-22T23:23:00.005-05:002008-11-25T22:28:04.827-05:00Happy Birthday Hubby! My husband loves Tennesse football so I decided to make a football cake for him. The squares aren't anywhere near perfect, but I tried:) He loves it so I guess that's all that matters.<br /><br />Aaron's birthday was yesterday, he's 32 years old. So think about the date of his birthday and think about his sign..... Scorpio, need I say more. He lives up to the sign. Aaron's lucky he is cute and I kind of like him.<br /><br />Yes, those are pipe cleaners for the field goal post.<br /><br />I am taking the cake to his family's Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow night. I hope they like, half is Strawberry and half chocolate. I haven't really used any special cake recipes, I'm afraid they won't turn out good enough to put icing on so I stick with Duncan Hines.<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT3nvtAz-ciwqPQmaBVzFbCn24rmEpiggrAta_6STeEZSk6rG8N_t0CmA2rjFaM_arfr7jGiobHIVXJkElyHdiEHFmmHAj2JQ3toje270mCYclcIZe8eGBIxYAy5tmCE3OQq6uFJxijWBe/s1600-h/IMG_2549.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5271704976652448834" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT3nvtAz-ciwqPQmaBVzFbCn24rmEpiggrAta_6STeEZSk6rG8N_t0CmA2rjFaM_arfr7jGiobHIVXJkElyHdiEHFmmHAj2JQ3toje270mCYclcIZe8eGBIxYAy5tmCE3OQq6uFJxijWBe/s320/IMG_2549.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfyvxfHAQMTc6tZhKLSXFd-PvG9Q-Q940HsoEOODzJqe_8CyL-A-FiN0gie16TyhMrGMebBS035_S3DNR6GpjDGACxEimtvUH7oWBR3e8kWuzLE4gpC8M9huWY4fg6IHCYRX6QqQ8cZLrr/s1600-h/IMG_2546.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5271704968926230866" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfyvxfHAQMTc6tZhKLSXFd-PvG9Q-Q940HsoEOODzJqe_8CyL-A-FiN0gie16TyhMrGMebBS035_S3DNR6GpjDGACxEimtvUH7oWBR3e8kWuzLE4gpC8M9huWY4fg6IHCYRX6QqQ8cZLrr/s320/IMG_2546.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh56zNLerRh5fvvDqWaA7217a4IB3LHc7z2iTNkTwVW0tF2UFqVJaZZSiJUgUMiiJHXGxit2m0IwgCvgoDZxzKp7zjFsMsALeXsKysjRy2FnE0HLwzmRB6SooDWFp4mvMsufGlu0o007Zpi/s1600-h/IMG_2541.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5271704960266622082" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh56zNLerRh5fvvDqWaA7217a4IB3LHc7z2iTNkTwVW0tF2UFqVJaZZSiJUgUMiiJHXGxit2m0IwgCvgoDZxzKp7zjFsMsALeXsKysjRy2FnE0HLwzmRB6SooDWFp4mvMsufGlu0o007Zpi/s320/IMG_2541.JPG" border="0" /></a> </div><div align="center"><br /><br />I can't figure out how to rotate the picture.... This cake stuff is taking up a lot of time. I feel like all I do is make cakes. I am a little happy I don't have to make one for next week's class. We are going to make flowers. A whole class to make flowers:)<br /><br />So, here is my first cake for fondant and gumpaste. We didn't get to be creative, we had to do certain task, a blanket type drape, a hankerchief and the ribbon border. I don't think the cake looks "put" together very well. Oh well, but here it is.<br /><p>There is a whole lot of buttercream underneath that fondant!<br /><br /><br /></p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5267963389111400658" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF7Ulr0ML0ZwxXNQ983zm7u4wk13hV3kUL7Jq-HsvBrussieSmTJLZyZbFCIx274woxd1xZg9IHiCXjar07hNia-8-x3aDdvs4ek1EvG5qlYpZY1qZ84IlHPBVwTB9xWS4MCU9x8tqMQXT/s320/IMG_2530.JPG" border="0" /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5267963397275993714" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_klUB46opp3d3yje2jWTgkgvf8R2QScYPRwktSrlWfs5HN5KVTz8wW68DYvvOmwsCGL280uPnolR7utcUruOzWBzZFQ1J7IUVm-019eiZWOmRr3YKlQd9NLjFxqg1l3K9QIK8FRZGUjJG/s320/IMG_2531.JPG" border="0" />Mrs.Babbsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436337595785876400noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745134726992612448.post-3844537043703985252008-11-03T21:52:00.004-05:002008-11-13T21:32:34.985-05:00Wilton course 1/ Class 4 (FINAL)I did it, I completed course 1! What a fun class. I learned so much this past month. I start course 4 tomorrow, Fondant and Gumpaste. Once you take course 1 you can take them in any order after that.<br /><br />The final class was all about roses and sweatpeas. The instructor gave me a picture to follow. In addition to making the roses it required making a ribbon, leaves, and piping stems. Here are the pictures:<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibvRayqmWxk_Z9szAoCQT91ezUtzbXuCbYnctP9WQkK9RvdyAjbDamG9ZuIqVnJ4x8IM1kCXcTjdwVPbm83K9Que-dqmjhR0RiyL7NWBC-dJpnbJLMKfhGNu1ShAswFWSHMGC3cJgoYJ9r/s1600-h/IMG_2512.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264630697705933314" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibvRayqmWxk_Z9szAoCQT91ezUtzbXuCbYnctP9WQkK9RvdyAjbDamG9ZuIqVnJ4x8IM1kCXcTjdwVPbm83K9Que-dqmjhR0RiyL7NWBC-dJpnbJLMKfhGNu1ShAswFWSHMGC3cJgoYJ9r/s320/IMG_2512.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaZEbPPPapF3O1smkO1JXXJxNBqvRuATCE3yYJcwnTg2ad9hwLxJ4k0DY1PGEKbqWC5pJRH8OFGZknlsELXguznt_GgUOBceL4H55wMI48hPNxdm63fE_QEnfOf_42jfyfqjWnPXzhnXCM/s1600-h/IMG_2514.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264630693413141234" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaZEbPPPapF3O1smkO1JXXJxNBqvRuATCE3yYJcwnTg2ad9hwLxJ4k0DY1PGEKbqWC5pJRH8OFGZknlsELXguznt_GgUOBceL4H55wMI48hPNxdm63fE_QEnfOf_42jfyfqjWnPXzhnXCM/s320/IMG_2514.JPG" border="0" /></a> You can see the details here:<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT8SqZknslCta2isyJL541repTEAkaWf14ZMsTIOXjbrnEEthzSdplQFcqMjrSzJECCZdUPY824CKCHxn8byEPXDUHxA6ZGrL_P3ARV2iOwcsyyRk5jiA0ty1dSYHOHkIUo959PRRcRGbM/s1600-h/IMG_2526.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264630688529984802" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT8SqZknslCta2isyJL541repTEAkaWf14ZMsTIOXjbrnEEthzSdplQFcqMjrSzJECCZdUPY824CKCHxn8byEPXDUHxA6ZGrL_P3ARV2iOwcsyyRk5jiA0ty1dSYHOHkIUo959PRRcRGbM/s320/IMG_2526.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div>Mrs.Babbsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436337595785876400noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745134726992612448.post-61892167299713544522008-11-01T22:51:00.005-04:002008-11-01T23:10:13.380-04:00Happy Heart DayOne year ago from Halloween my dad was in the hospital having a 6 way bypass. It was a scary day and I don't mean because it was Halloween. We spent the day pacing the hospital hallways waiting for every update and holding on to every word the nurses said. I never wanted to go through that experience again. Thanks to my brother, we had to go through it again in April. Thanks big brother, but I guess that's another reason to celebrate.<br /><br />I am thankful for the 2 amazing heart surgeons, I will have my dad and my brother in my life for a very, very long time!<br /><br />Tomorrow I am having a little dinner for my dad's 1 year heart anniversary. I decided to make a cake for the <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">occasion</span>. I have to keep practicing my skills right:)<br /><br />I decided to go with a heart design (of course). I really wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, but I didn't wanted it to be <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Valentine's</span> day colors. I wanted something a little different. I decided just a simple "We Love You" we would be perfect. I put everyone who will be at the dinner on the cake, plus my dad. The little face of him cracks me up, of course he has more hair than that, but I wanted to be funny:)<br /><br />I hope I get better at faces, because I just love them.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263887919795095698" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg09a6rUR86cnEsBGqRHQIMMhpo19XPRg8r7V0VZ69rt8aTOutyY8-8yhbIg7Yfu0nC6DqV2IJkMJN96tAewACvvICN4NH_LGgsd11AdljC2V8qahVJcvlLstzJUsecZJiCmVtV6-2kK4nk/s320/IMG_2501.JPG" border="0" /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRbzLO2e3vmqKwIHa0pNTQPYaSAAnBgYoWqzcgv1XO5RAGOECgn5fZ_0g7Yp9KoZBanHZefmLl0X880ThjoEW9tsmxgQDdrOZ8Oaaco3J7OnNtn2gIL-uC2rnHADt9OU-KkJvZDqdVaHvt/s1600-h/IMG_2504.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263887939222715874" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRbzLO2e3vmqKwIHa0pNTQPYaSAAnBgYoWqzcgv1XO5RAGOECgn5fZ_0g7Yp9KoZBanHZefmLl0X880ThjoEW9tsmxgQDdrOZ8Oaaco3J7OnNtn2gIL-uC2rnHADt9OU-KkJvZDqdVaHvt/s320/IMG_2504.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXlVgU2zkoZIsnnxEbK3wXxlwJ8kfnd6-62nMINRp_qyoTcfnwJ2F2Tcbn3buRSqFTqPolxR1SnUQqgDLqibgGBzrlvluFq3v-K0cqeuH1lt9h6qfHcHV7e1ZMSDqp9Xi_uwOKxRl03P1d/s1600-h/IMG_2503.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263887933978165602" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXlVgU2zkoZIsnnxEbK3wXxlwJ8kfnd6-62nMINRp_qyoTcfnwJ2F2Tcbn3buRSqFTqPolxR1SnUQqgDLqibgGBzrlvluFq3v-K0cqeuH1lt9h6qfHcHV7e1ZMSDqp9Xi_uwOKxRl03P1d/s320/IMG_2503.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3ouMQoFTYu4affGpim3pIAuCAPr7fGBUG-PiL37sYbM-tqHsumJcT5GUo7EL0rdT-28yvgjxTinHYQj4siFpdZN94GsNPDQbnxXzPcwZE_N0GRlCG3fQRfFnc_0rtYoO8ZboDjXt4KBZi/s1600-h/IMG_2502.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263887923141775202" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3ouMQoFTYu4affGpim3pIAuCAPr7fGBUG-PiL37sYbM-tqHsumJcT5GUo7EL0rdT-28yvgjxTinHYQj4siFpdZN94GsNPDQbnxXzPcwZE_N0GRlCG3fQRfFnc_0rtYoO8ZboDjXt4KBZi/s320/IMG_2502.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /></div><div align="center"><span style="color:#990000;"><span style="font-size:180%;"><em><strong>I love you dad!!!</strong></em></span><br /></span><br /></div><div align="center"><br /><br /><span style="font-size:180%;">Thanks again to the amazing doctor who made my dad feel 100% better!!!!!!!<br /><br /></div></span><div></div></div>Mrs.Babbsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436337595785876400noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745134726992612448.post-79907397966263056312008-10-30T20:21:00.007-04:002008-10-30T20:42:17.016-04:00Bride of Frankenstein (the cake version)Here is my cake for Halloween spooky food contest. It took longer than I thought it would, but it also turned out better than I thought it would.<br /><br />I used 2 bread loaf pans to make the cake (3 cups of cake mix per pan), one was for the hair and the other for the face. The cake mix is just a basic red velvet cake. I made sure there was plenty of icing between the 2 cakes as a 'paste'.<br /><br /><div align="center"></div><div align="center"></div><div align="center">What do you think? </div><div align="center">(Keep in mind this is only my 3rd cake)</div><br /><br /><br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5Xk3XncBw13bQmIFwEP5meWJCq52xabh5ohnE1TCyUJDgrWpxcvUQWZ0xkBP8dGyAHPLz_PF0aJ9brhBZYqxTsJ-ZU_nsgEkxg3DMkbtd2gwUNzsKZ22XZ1a7cQg3AvXjjJgt05lqQz7W/s1600-h/IMG_2486.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263108219474825186" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5Xk3XncBw13bQmIFwEP5meWJCq52xabh5ohnE1TCyUJDgrWpxcvUQWZ0xkBP8dGyAHPLz_PF0aJ9brhBZYqxTsJ-ZU_nsgEkxg3DMkbtd2gwUNzsKZ22XZ1a7cQg3AvXjjJgt05lqQz7W/s320/IMG_2486.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />The face close up:<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcKfw0wyoF70X0xfexi_vPunKs3dJiXXBIJPxKzg_5-VhNlNq37E1Cnox2CyW9skYhGxKdfIaOxaLfbvEJ8fea2ZMbm-C78BDLc5AismJ4MEMDcpa2GIWNJ5e9h8dgA1inDTnEkmH5vpKj/s1600-h/IMG_2485.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263108205798314098" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcKfw0wyoF70X0xfexi_vPunKs3dJiXXBIJPxKzg_5-VhNlNq37E1Cnox2CyW9skYhGxKdfIaOxaLfbvEJ8fea2ZMbm-C78BDLc5AismJ4MEMDcpa2GIWNJ5e9h8dgA1inDTnEkmH5vpKj/s320/IMG_2485.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br />The hair close up:<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSrV-QYHGp0iJRcvFOmxkmMhY-wSdi4NSnOPbSWi8sPOXLZhn2STQtQaj6SliRAd3wlDsTYHFzGC630Fthk2hlvq5lAuquMKnmaZDobz3i58ihorfkKI5GXnKEX0x5QbXJpYy-16HrYHYQ/s1600-h/IMG_2484.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263108199750772642" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSrV-QYHGp0iJRcvFOmxkmMhY-wSdi4NSnOPbSWi8sPOXLZhn2STQtQaj6SliRAd3wlDsTYHFzGC630Fthk2hlvq5lAuquMKnmaZDobz3i58ihorfkKI5GXnKEX0x5QbXJpYy-16HrYHYQ/s320/IMG_2484.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br />And just another pictures because I actually did it!<br /><br /><br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6YGiJhYlAN9SxvbYOpvHDDcbWRti0wrE7eLFsz_Delsc1jp5l3dxWuuKKuIQVU8hd_BO8BcqnfHvvPP0lrGwepnJIPBeFyCLeLiBT6cMJKh6UGEDIfAG6v3iZmcutQHmaYHdmMLTrPzGg/s1600-h/IMG_2483.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263108193719613730" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6YGiJhYlAN9SxvbYOpvHDDcbWRti0wrE7eLFsz_Delsc1jp5l3dxWuuKKuIQVU8hd_BO8BcqnfHvvPP0lrGwepnJIPBeFyCLeLiBT6cMJKh6UGEDIfAG6v3iZmcutQHmaYHdmMLTrPzGg/s320/IMG_2483.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />This is the cake mix----ewwww! (okay I just wanted to use the busy bee stuff because this recipe used a lot of honey) I spent most of the weekend in the kitchen. Friday night I started the cupcakes and the bread. Saturday, we had a little party so I made a pasta dish, taco cups, spinach dip, stuffed strawberries and of course I had to bake my cake today for my class tomorrow. </div><br /><div>I am sick of the kitchen right now. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I found the honey Peanut cupakes on <a href="http://cupcakeblog.com/">Cupcake by Chockylit</a>. Just the name alone makes you want to make them. They are the perfect comfort food, sweet and salty. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The cupcakes went very well at the party! I had some left over icing and I gave some to my mother in law to put on pancakes. She is going to report back to me. I was going to make waffles this morning, but I just didn't feel like it and I was too lazy to go get milk from the store. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div><strong>Honey Peanut Cupcakes:</strong> </div><br /><div>Honey Peanut Cupcakes~9 cupcakes / 350 degree oven</div><div></div><div>2 tablespoons peanuts, unsalted</div><div>1/4 teaspoon salt</div><div>1 cup + 1 tablespoon flour (cake if you have it, otherwise all-purpose)</div><div>1/4 teaspoon salt</div><div>3/4 teaspoon baking powder</div><div>3 tablespoons grape seed oil or vegetable oil</div><div>2 tablespoons whole milk</div><div>3 egg yolks</div><div>1/3 cup thick honey</div><div>4 egg whites</div><div>1/4 teaspoon cream of tarter1/4 cup sugar<br /></div><div>1. I have been looking at this recipe since I bought the book, I knew I wanted to make some changes. Aaron and I had cream cheese bread on our honeymoon and it was awesome. I keep looking for recipes for it, but I haven't found anything. When I saw this recipe I started thinking I just can just leave out the sweet stuff and replace it with the cream cheese. I'm glad I did:) </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>It is really good, but still not like what we had on the honeymoon. I will just keep trying. The recipe below is the Dorie recipe and what's in red is what I did. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div><strong>For the Bread</strong><br />1 packet active dry yeast<br />1/4 cup sugar, plus a pinch more<br />1 1/4 cups just barely warm while milk<br />1/2 stick butter, softened to room temperature<br />3/4 teaspoon salt<br />1 large egg<br />1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract<br />Zest of 1/2 orange <span style="color:#660000;">(did not add)<br /></span>Pinch of nutmeg <span style="color:#660000;">(did not add)<br /></span>3 3/4 to 4 cups flour</div><br /><div><br /><strong>For the filling <span style="color:#660000;">(this is what I just replaced with 2 Cream Cheese 8 oz packages)</span></strong><br />1 tablespoon sugar<br />2 teaspoons cinnamon<br />2 teaspoons cocoa powder (unsweetened)<br />1 cup moist raisins (steamed and dried if necessary)<br />3 tablespoons butter softened so it's spreadable.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Put the yeast in a small bowl, add a pinch of sugar and 1/4 cup of the warm milk, stir it together and let it rest for 3 minutes. It should soften.</div><br /><div><br />In a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, combine the rest of the 1 cup milk, the butter and the 1/4 cup sugar. Mix on low speed until combine, then add the salt, egg, vanilla, zest and nutmet and continue to stir on low for another minute. Add the yeast mixture and stir for one minute more.</div><br /><div><br />With the mixer off, add 2 3/4 cups flour and begin mixing again on low speed until the flour is just worked in. Switch to the dough hook and with the mixer on speed setting 2 beat the dough for a few minutes. The dough should begin coming together off the sides of the bowl. If it doesn't add up to 1/4 cup flour on tablespoon at a time until it does. Kneed the dough for 3 minutes more until it is smooth and shiny. The dough should be very soft.</div><div></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5258940500056215682" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0alsywXynRcu82itwtP4Qkxodj2VvUcfLMK6e5Sm-YKr_gB0jeCykpJL5td7EndnFbfe9rbTxHt1aR5dTBoB3AAJ6fhCVb5azkboERIaJIy0uDwjkHi1f6BLc-tQ_pJSeyMdkIyF3tDlS/s320/IMG_2422.JPG" border="0" /><br /><div><br />In a large buttered bowl, turn out the dough and cover tightly with cling wrap. The bread as it cooked soaked up some of the cream cheese, but the bread is very moist. </div>Mrs.Babbsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436337595785876400noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745134726992612448.post-24581529129243281842008-10-19T14:20:00.005-04:002008-10-19T14:33:15.473-04:00Cake Release Recipe!I had my first cake decorating class last Monday. This week I am required to bake a cake to decorate tomorrow. God, I hope I am good at this. I am the only one in the class, so hopefully that means I will have focused attention on ME:) Just the way I like it!<br /><br />Anywho, I just made my first cake and couldn't believe how easy it came out of the pans. Cake release is awesome. My instructor gave me the recipe. It's too good not to share.<br /><br /><strong>equal parts:</strong> <em>(you can make it with any amount-just make sure it is equal parts)</em><br /><strong>1 cup flour<br />1 cup crisco<br />1 cup oil<br /></strong><br />Instructor said to store it tightly covered in a glass jar. No need to put it in the fridge.<br /><br />Mix with an eletric mixer and Ta-Da! I coated my pans evenly with it. When the cake was cooling in the pans you could just see the cake coming off the sides, just waiting for me to turn them over to put on the cooling trays!<br /><br />Good stuff!<br /><br />Stay tuned for the cake decorated;)Mrs.Babbsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436337595785876400noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4745134726992612448.post-68482179162059462362008-10-10T19:48:00.016-04:002008-10-11T11:27:51.998-04:00Quesadilla night... I made this tonight for tailgating tomorrow. From the mouth of my husband after letting him "test" it, "Man, I love that shit." So, I guess that means he approves.<br /><br /><span style="color:#ff6600;"><strong><span style="font-size:130%;">H<span style="color:#000000;">o</span>p<span style="color:#000000;">e</span>f<span style="color:#000000;">u</span>l<span style="color:#000000;">l</span>y <span style="color:#000000;">w</span>e <span style="color:#000000;">w</span>i<span style="color:#000000;">l</span>l <span style="color:#000000;">p</span>u<span style="color:#000000;">l</span>l <span style="color:#000000;">o</span>u<span style="color:#000000;">t</span> a <span style="color:#000000;">B</span>e<span style="color:#000000;">n</span>g<span style="color:#000000;">a</span>l w<span style="color:#000000;">i</span>n t<span style="color:#000000;">o</span>m<span style="color:#000000;">o</span>r<span style="color:#000000;">r</span>o<span style="color:#000000;">w</span>.</span></strong> </span><br /><br /><br />Here is Mick's version:<br /><br /><strong>Ingredients:</strong><br />2 (14.5 oz) cans of chicken breast<br />2 (8 oz) packages of cream cheese<br />1 cup Ranch (not blue cheese...ewww)<br />1/2 cup of hot sauce (I used Frank's)<br />1 cup of shredded mild cheddar<br /><br />Preheat oven to 350.<br /><br />First mix the cream cheese until it's smooth and creamy. We are going to take turns choosing a recipe. I think we decided we will be baking on a biweekly basis. The first selection was page 99, the Quintuple Chocolate Brownies.<br /><br /><div><div><div></div><div></div><div>I am not that crazy about them. I think it's too rich and dare I say too much chocolate. This will be the first and last time I make them. My husband is going to take them to work tomorrow, so that will be the true test I guess. </div><div><br /></div><div>the recipe: </div><div><br /><br /></div><div><strong>FOR THE BROWNIES:</strong><br /><br />½ cup all-purpose flour<br />¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder<br />½ tsp salt<br />1 stick (8 Tablespoons) unsalted butter, cut into 8 pieces<br />3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped<br />3 ounces bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate chocolate, coarsely chopped<br />2 Tbs strong coffee<span style="color:#660000;"> (I left this out because I was not going to buy coffee for the recipe)<br /></span>1 cup granulated sugar<br />3 large eggs<br />1 tsp vanilla extract</div><div><br /></div><div>6 ounces premium- quality milk chocolate, chopped into chips, or 1 cup store-bought milk choc. chips<br />1 cup chopped nuts (optional) -<span style="color:#660000;"> I used Cashews, Dorie suggested at some point to try it this way.<br /></span><br /><br /><br /><strong>FOR THE GLAZE:<br /></strong><br />6 ounces premium- quality white chocolate, finely chopped, or 1 cup store- bought white chocolate chips<br />1/3 cup heavy whipping cream<br /><br /><br />Getting Ready: Center a rack in the oven, and preheat the oven to 325°F. Line a 9-inch baking pan with foil, butter the foil and place the pan on a baking sheet.<br /><br />Sift together the flour, cocoa and salt. </div><div><br /><br /></div><div></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248636838537602034" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" height="165" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjndJU0NqidueUdyz6yfHHGdyMcVOgbjZ9XECN8kTfcs7gsDCPFNhpnMtKY9eo_xsifKv_nPsZXvII4EvRxpXPiVsdFf1hFTD8xSqXOGE3R91_BgOtw3z-_2AQ52bOUJtGP0crZdp4RzMH1/s320/IMG_0933.JPG" width="236" border="0" /> To Make the Brownies: Set a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water and add, in the following order, the butter, the two chocolates and the coffee. Keeping the pan over low heat, warm just until the butter and chocolates are melted- you don't want the ingredients to get so hot they separate, so keep an eye on the bowl. Stir gently, and when the mixture is smooth, set it aside for 5 minutes.<br /><br /><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248635393159926354" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 226px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 213px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" height="233" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6Tm1dVIBdMOqIhre39_Q71vXaRwkw9-AtgJUc904-4gAuq7-BklR6gAwStRpA0yaz3MTrbXMZjpBvPftC9BdFCy-9juRMZt1JR0lGSvNfuik985mhLdrF-IXnvlXyYuL88iFp3k0Hh4zk/s320/IMG_0930.JPG" width="210" border="0" /><br /><br />Using a whisk or a rubber spatula, beat the sugar into the chocolate mixture. Don't beat too vigorously- you don't want to add air to the batter- and don't be concerned about any graininess. Next, stir in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla. You should have a smooth, glossy batter. If you're not already using a rubber spatula, switch to one now and gently stir in the dry ingredients, mixing only until they are incorporated. Finally, stir in the milk chocolate chips and the nuts. Scrape the batter into the pan.<br /></div><div></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248635976027933042" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 222px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 186px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" height="165" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaQtug-9MENAaw4w2_BD1jDyhvhCaIw1CJGjzhhr2fyfJzjRVkIvEO4QcZFjeHIC31KlJvtZCEbkWwF7-LJaBGTn4QkoI1wYgZzd93BIwGn8gu1pP2vTP0_kEs99nUoOFwqS7IPpTiVnws/s320/IMG_0932.JPG" width="196" border="0" /> Bake for about 35 minutes, or until a thin knife inserted into the center comes out streaked but not thickly coated. Transfer the pan to a cooling rack and let the brownies rest undisturbed for at least 30 minutes. (You can wait longer, if you'd like.) </div><div><br /><div></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248639528687122178" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" height="209" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgdjkyMRKqytnGfRmcgPVw5APvS6ZMAQdj3D2TVlysqagFnqvd5KFn0gEj9IUQ_yCi9W4qAIquYa9fakYs9o08SWX9VqZbC_t-uKyEIr5xKtzWHoa45do3AcXJnbUkleb1TEs0MUhJIUYf/s320/IMG_0934.JPG" width="283" border="0" /><br />Turn the brownies out onto a rack, peel away the foil and place it under another rack- it will be the drip catcher for the glaze. Invert the brownies onto the rack and let cool completely.<br /><br />To Make the Glaze: Put the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Bring the heavy cream to a boil and pour it over the chocolate. Wait 30 seconds, then, using a rubber spatula, gently stir until the chocolate is melted and the glaze is smooth.<br /><br />Hold a long metal icing spatula in one hand and the bowl of glaze in the other. Pour the glaze onto the center of the brownies and use the spatula to nudge it evenly over the surface. Don't worry if it dribbles over the edges, you can trim the sides later (or not). Refrigerate the brownies for at least 30 minutes, or until the glaze is firm.<br /><br />Cut into 16 squares, roughly 2¼ inches on a side.<br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Mine did not turn out pretty either. Hopefully when I take my cake decorating class I will get better with this type of stuff:)</div><br /><div></div><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248637222195340594" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" height="187" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAiFCJ4AEj6dOliNmdKMgYYPgl8wfGVvwwFXD8qEcaJbZR1jB_yaJyDWFhyZ85XaZzbp1KXfUSgTkZk_VpisCN0ha3mMqIZ4MZwQLn44MnsIikXy8O5ZQ-UxO14-Vuy9qSUfWCHag9uKwo/s320/IMG_0938.JPG" width="286" border="0" /><br /></div><br /><div></div></div></div>Mrs.Babbsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15436337595785876400noreply@blogger.com1
